Il design e l’interior design passano anche dal green… Il green che ho visto in un negozio di fiori di corso Vittorio Emanuele a Torino per esempio… mi sono letteralmente innamorata …
Parola d’ordine: KOKEDAMA!
Ma cos’è?
E’ una tecnica giapponese di coltivazione – mi spiega Corinna, l’appassionata proprietaria di UltraViolet shop – nasce nel 1600 e porta con se un profondo legame e rispetto per la natura.
Ma prima di capire il perchè, cerchiamo di capire in cosa consiste:
si tratta di piante che sono messe a dimora in una palla di muschio e terriccio… semplice a dirsi, un po’ meno a farsi. Ci va pazienza – dice Corinna – bisogna provare e trovare la composizione giusta, capire qual’è il muschio più adatto e soprattutto bisogna osservare la pianta ed i suoi cambiamenti. Daltronde si parla dei giapponesi, re della pazienza e della filosofia Zen… e anche Corinna ne ha da vendere!
Il Kokedama è una filosofia completamente ecologica e sostenibile e prevede che la pianta rimanga a contatto con il suo ambiente naturale, creando una sorta di ecosistema che ha bisogno del nostro aiuto solo per una cosa: l’acqua! Le piantine devono infatti essere immerse in una bacinella d’acqua fino a che l’aria presente dentro la palla fuoriesca tutta sottofroma di bollicine, poi si tira su, si strizza delicatamente e si rimette a posto.
A proposito di “posto”… i Kokedama si possono poggiare o appendere e l’effetto è davvero suggestivo!

Design and Interior design use plants as well … For example the plants that I’ve seen in a flower shop in c.so Vittorio Emanuele in Turin… I’ve fell in love in a minute!

What is that?
It’s an ancient Japanese cultivation technique – explains Corinna, the passionate owner of UltraViolet shop – born in the XVII century with a deep relationship and respect for nature.
But before discovering why, let’s understand what kokedama is:
it’s about plants that are planted in a ball of musk and soil … simple to say, not easy to make. You need patience – says Corinna – and you have to try and find the right composition of musk and soil, the most suitable musk and, above all, you must watch the plant and its changing. In fact we are talking about Japanese people, kings of patience and Zen philosophy…. and Corinna is plenty of pacience as well!
Kokedama is a philosophy completely ecological and sustainable and it means that plants stay in contact with their natural environment, and it creates a kind of ecosystem that needs our help just for one thing: water!
Plants should be immersed in a water basin till the air inside the ball has come out as bubbles, then they should be pull up, gently squeezed and finally repositioned.
Speaking of “place” … Kokedama can rest or hang, and the effect is really impressive!
Ogni pianta può essere coltivata con la tecnica del Kokedama, ma ogni pianta è diversa, ha le sue esigenze e non uguale all’altra. Corinna le prepara anche su richiesta con ogni tipo di pianta. Nel suo negozio le abbiamo trovate deliziose e di design! Ed io già mi vedo un angolino green che da un tocco di stile alla casa, un bagno fatto di palle pendenti, un mobile arredato con le piantine… e non vedo l’ora di usarle nel prossimo progetto di CIESSE.

Each plant can be grown with the Kokedama technique, but each plant is different, has its own needs and it’s like no others. Corinna can taylore kokedama with each type of plants. In his shop we found them delicious and glamour! And I can immagine a little green corner in a room, a bathroom with pendants green balls, furniture decorated with plants … and I cannot wait for using kokedama in the next CIESSE project.
